Kurnool: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday reiterated that the development in the state is possible only with the TDP and no other government would take the state on progressive path.
Highlights:
- Asks people to take note of ‘shooting’, ‘hanging’ remarks of YSRCP chief against him.
- Promises to turn Rayalaseema a green belt with Mucchumarri project waters
Addressing people on his first-day of two-day election campaign at a road show that started from Ayyaluru Metta, Naidu said the government despite facing revenue deficit of Rs 16,000 crore, waived Rs 24,000 crore loans of farmers. Apart from this, the government has also extended interest-free loans up to Rs 1 lakh and Rs 3 lakh at 25 paisa interest to farmers. This is a major achievement by the TDP, he said.
Expressing confidence that TDP candidate Bhuma Bhrahmananda Reddy would win in the bypoll, the Chief Minister said the Opposition party leader, who is in a state of shock and fear of losing the bypoll, was making derogatory remarks like ‘shooting’ and ‘hanging” against him, who was relentlessly striving for the welfare of people of AP.
“Is this the culture of a leader who wants to become the Chief Minister? Do we teach our children to adopt such language?” he said and added that people need no bullets to shoot such people, instead they must respond to them with their votes. He also ridiculed Jagan for saying that he doesn’t own a television channel or newspaper. He asked Jagan to whom the Sakshi channel and paper belong. “People are not fools to believe the statements being made by you. They are observing your every word and are waiting for an appropriate time to teach you a befitting lesion,” he said of Jagan.
On YSRCP contesting in bypoll, the TDP supremo said Jagan instead of supporting the children who lost their parents wants to take revenge against them. Recalling the unanimous election of Vijayamma after the death of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Naidu said Jagan should have followed the same tradition, but he did not do. Describing Jagan as a man of “rude nature”, he appealed to Nandyal voters to ensure Bhuma Brahmadanda Reddy’s victory.
The government was constructing 15 lakh houses across the state and as part of the programme, Nandyal was sanctioned 13,000 houses, he said and added that this initiative had been taken by the government to ensure that everyone gets a house of their own. The Chief Minister said that YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been claiming that houses have been constructed to everyone during his father’s rule. “If Rajasekhar Reddy had constructed houses for all, then why so many are still houseless till date,” he said.
Naidu said that he had completed all the pending irrigation projects after TDP came to power in the state. Stating that Pattiseema project was completed on war footing basis, the Chief Minister reiterated his promise that all the 28 pending irrigation projects would be completed in three months. He said he would transform Rayalaseema into a ‘green belt’ with the waters of Mucchumarri project.
Taking pot shots at the Opposition leader, Naidu said, some political parties were making false allegations against the government and misleading the people unable to digest the rapid development taking place in the state.
He said the developmental works that were being done at present were the once cherished by late leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy. “With an immense interest to develop Nandyal, he joined TDP and now his dream is being fulfilled,” said Naidu.
Tourism minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, information and public relation minister Kaluva Srinivasulu and party leaders participated in the road show.
