Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Dr M Malakondaiah on Monday stressed on the need for preserving the manuscripts for posterity while inaugurating an exhibition-cum-talk on Managerial and Legal aspects in Indian Manuscripts at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati (CCVA) organised jointly by CCVA and Young Indians (YI), a sister concern of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Malakondaiah said that such exhibitions and talks bring awareness among the younger generations on preserving the rare manuscripts. Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA briefed the gathering on the exhibition. Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Property Ventures Pvt. Ltd., introduced the speakers and the activities of Young Indians.

Palm leaf manuscripts in the exhibition include Udararaghava of Sakalyamalla, the court poet of Kakatiya Prataprudra, Chaturvargachintamani of Hemadripant (13th century), an encyclopaedia of contemporary literature history, arts, architecture and Dharmasastra, Bhagvadgita in dvipada (18th century), on Padarthchandrikatippani by Nanja Siromani (16th century).

One most important paper manuscript also displayed in the exhibition namely Bhadraparinaya by Kanadam Peddana Somyaji (16th century) written in gold and silver ink with calligraphic styles and Telugu handwritten manuscripts of Ayurveda such as Dravyagun Ratnakar (AD. 12thcentury.) Marathi, Urdu and Persian manuscripts such as Pratapdurga Mahatmaya (Shaka 1671) the first manuscript about Chhatrapati Shivaji, Sharangadhar Paddhati, Vaidyopacharasara Sangraha (Ayurveda Manuscript).
