Krishnaiah, a former IAS officer, had worked as Chittoor Collector in the past and has substantial knowledge about the district. He met District Collector P S Pradyumna and discussed the progress about the ongoing works of industrial units. District Industries Centre General Manager Anil Kumar Reddy and APIIC Zonal Manager I L Ram were present. Speaking to the media here on Monday, Krishnaiah said that there was an immediate need for providing the site, electricity and water supply for establishing the industries in the district.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on developing Chittoor district as an industrial hub and added that Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy, who hails from the district, has clear vision to promote the industrial growth in the district. “Industrialists would come forward to establish the industries in a big way if the government provides land and ensure water and electricity supply,” he added.

The APIIC official exuded confidence of District Collector would expedite the clearances for setting up industries in the district. He further said that there is a proposal for developing Palamaner Industrial Estate as a model one. Earlier, Krishnaiah has reviewed the progress of ongoing industrial projects with the DIC General Manger and the APIIC officials.
