He said that they were using new technology for KMC polls like videography and webcasting using micro servers for transparent voting procedure. The civil body poll would be conducted exactly like Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, he added.

He urged the district election officials to show commitment and devotion in conducting the elections in an impartial manner as KMC elections had overcome many legal and other obstacles. He said any voter can check their polling booth online and added that no complaint had been received so far by the SEC regarding the KMC polls.

Speaking on the review meeting, district collector Karthikeya Misra said that election would be conducted in 196 polling stations from 7 am to 5 pm on August 29. Each polling station have 1,120 voters on average. He further said that 39/4 polling station has 746 voters, which is a minimum number,

while 11/5 polling station has maximum numbers of 1,354 voters. The collector further said that 216 presiding officers, 216 assistant presiding officers and 723 other staff were roped in for KMC polls. He said they had recruited an observer for every polling booth to observe polling pattern from time to time. He said all the polling staff were from outside Kakinada division.
Misra said that a control room had been started to receive complaints on the violation of the model code of conduct with phone number 088-2376051.

SP Vishal Gunni told SEC Ramesh Kumar that they had identified 28 highly sensitive and 52 sensitive polling stations. Six striking forces, six special striking forces and 13 route mobile teams would work for the KMC elections.
