Transgender Yellaji arrested

The Fifth town police on Monday arrested a transgender Surada Yellaji and his accomplice Kishore following a complaint lodged by hijras Gopika and another two alleging he made an attempt on their lives. Circle Inspector K Chandrasekhar said hijras gave repeated complaints after which the police investigated and arrested them.
Visakhapatnam: The Fifth town police on Monday arrested a transgender Surada Yellaji and his accomplice Kishore following a complaint lodged by hijras Gopika and another two alleging he made an attempt on their lives. Circle Inspector K Chandrasekhar said hijras gave repeated complaints after which the police investigated and arrested them.
He said Gopika alleged that on the night of Saturday, both Yellaji and Ksihore barged into their house and tried to strangle. Gopika wriggled out of their clutches and came to the police station to lodge the complaint. Yellaji, who was arrested for threatening hijras, was released on bail recently.
