Advocates to boycott courts in city

Advocates will boycott courts on Wednesday and Thursday in protest against the Supreme Court circular to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Telangane State to dispose of all cases prior to 2012 on a day to day basis. This would cause immense hardship to advocates, litigants and judicial officers in the state.

President of Visakhapatnam Bar Association P Balakrishna and secretary K Jagdeeswara Rao led the call in deference to the Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee which has strongly opposed the circular issued by the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Lanka Jaganatham said that they were not opposed to disposal of cases, but hurried justice has no answer to the pendency of cases.
