An Armed Reserved (AR) constable died after suffering cardiac arrest at Nandyal on Tuesday.The deceased was identified as G Uma Maheshwar Rao (38), a native of Vinukonda in Guntur district. According to Officer on Special Duty (OSD) K Ravi Prakash, the deceased belonged to the Armed Reserve police department and was deputed on bypoll duty to Nandyal from Guntur.

According to Officer on Special Duty (OSD) K Ravi Prakash, the deceased belonged to the Armed Reserve police department and was deputed on bypoll duty to Nandyal from Guntur.

He was posted on duty at market yard that is known to be one of the busy centres in Nandyal town. While Uma Maheshwar Rao was on duty, he suddenly experienced chest pain and in no time he collapsed on the ground.

The other cops who were on duty at the same place immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital. However, the constable died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The family members were informed of the constable’s death. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the two town police station. The deceased is survived by wife and two children.
