Make Vinayaka Sagar ready for immersion of idols by Aug 24
The members of the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Mahotsava Committee have requested the Municipal Corporation authorities to complete all the works for the immersion of Ganesha idols by August 24. The committee members along with the Corporation Commissioner Ch Hari Kiran and other officials visited the Vinayaka Sagar on Tuesday to oversee the ongoing cleaning works at the tank. Tirupati: The members of the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Mahotsava Committee have requested the Municipal Corporation authorities to complete all the works for the immersion of Ganesha idols by August 24. The committee members along with the Corporation Commissioner Ch Hari Kiran and other officials visited the Vinayaka Sagar on Tuesday to oversee the ongoing cleaning works at the tank. Ganesh nimajjanam will take place on August 27 which is third day from the date of festival.
But, those who perform poojas at their homes will come for immersion of idols from August 26 itself. In view of this, the arrangements are to be expedited before the deadline, the committee asked the authorities. TTD staff, who were overseeing the works of arranging the floats in the tank, said that the works were going on a brisk pace and will be completed by August 24. The fishermen, who came specially for the purpose of cleaning the tank from Kavali, have tied nets in the tank so that the duckweed could not be hindrance for the immersion of idols.
