State to increase accidental insurance claim to Rs 5 lakh

Labour and employment minister Pithani Satyanarayana announced here on Tuesday that the state government would enhance accidental insurance claims (for deaths) to Rs 5 lakh. Similarly, for deaths due to natural causes of those between 18-50 years to Rs 2 lakh would be the provision.

New Delhi: Labour and employment minister Pithani Satyanarayana announced here on Tuesday that the state government would enhance accidental insurance claims (for deaths) to Rs 5 lakh. Similarly, for deaths due to natural causes of those between 18-50 years to Rs 2 lakh would be the provision.

After holding meeting with the Central labour authorities, Satyanarayana said career counselling centres would be introduced in each district soon, to provide guidance to the educated youth, besides placements assistance. He said he sought funds for 79 ITIs in the state. “Tribal ITI at Pendurthi need funds and the Centre was considering it favourably,” he informed.

He said he urged upon the authorities to link Skill Development Centres to the ITIs to benefit the local students.Centre also agreed to set up a 500-bed ESI hospital at Visakhapatnam, where the State government was ready to allot seven acres of land. Likewise, an ESI Hospital for Amaravati was also sought, he said.
