Supreme Court verdict on triple talaq hailed
Activists of the BJP Mahila Morcha and the BJP Minority Morcha on Tuesday hailed the SC verdict on triple Talaq. A festive atmosphere prevailed in Nizamuddin Colony here as the activists of both the outfits celebrated the occasion distributing sweets.

The Minority Morcha president Hussain and the Mahila Morcha city general secretary Vinita Gupta dwelt on the verdict and said that the SC ruled that the triple talaq is unconstitutional. The SC Bench is divided on the verdict with three judges opposing it and two judges supporting it.
The court gave six months time to make a law on the issue within six months. Muslim women expressed their anguish over increasing number of divorces through triple talaq and detested it as it is inimical to their interests. The Supreme Court gave verdict today disposing of a petition that stated that the practice is violative of the fundamental rights of Muslim women.
Welcoming the court decision, Adoni unit of the BJP felt it as a victory of the Centre which supported Muslim women on the issue. BJP leaders Kanigiri Nagaraju, Sakare Raghavendra, Sharif, Ghouse, Khader, Aslam, Anwar, Roshan, Aduri Vijay Krishna, Gopi, Sai, Mahadeva, Narasinga and others participated.
