Amaravati: With the construction activities of Amaravati gaining momentum, the unemployed youth are elated with hope that job opportunities would come their way. Indeed, 30,000 jobs would be created in the capital region.

According to the projections, opportunities will come in infrastructure, hotel industry, tourism and nursing fields. As per the preliminary estimations, nearly 20,000 people would get jobs in hotel industry and tourism sector. Similarly, 10,000 nurse posts would come from medical universities and college establishments. Human resources experts suggest the government to gear up to skill the youth to make them ready for opportunities.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) decided to complete tender process for two five-star hotels, two three-star hotels and two convention centres in Amaravati. Already BR Shetty group, which had laid foundation stone for Medi City, including two five-star hotels and 1000-bed hospital, one research centre in the capital location recently. The projects would be grounded from forthcoming Dasara along with administrative capital city works.


The agriculture workers who have depended up on farming will get employment in construction projects. T Chandrasekhar, principal of a private hotel management college, speaking to The Hans India, said that every star hotel needs a 1000-member staff. All the pipeline projects, including tourism ventures would create 20,000 jobs.

The government’s skill development board contacted his college recently about the number of students who successfully complete the course. Other vocational training institutions would get boost from the new projects in Amaravati, he said.

Besides, Indo-UK group had laid the foundation stone for the construction of medical college. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has got assurance from the group for grounding of works within period of two months. The project would provide employment for nearly 10,000 nurses and 2000 doctors in Amaravati. On the other hand, the state government has planned to start works for various tourism projects, including biggest theme park.

Stating that there is a huge demand for nursing posts T Arjuna Rao, president, AP Private Nursing Colleges’ Association, said he requested the state government to make steps to provide better salaries by private institutions starting from Rs 20,000 per month. Then only the unemployed youth would get at least some benefit from the development, he said.

Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry executive director Potluri Bhaskar Rao said that it is high time for local unemployed youth to get opportunities in education, hotel industry, tourism and food processing industries. He asked the government to activate skill development corporation for motivating the local youth. He also opined the local people only are suitable and nobody would come from outside for these posts.
