Elaborating on the project, Commissioner of GVMC M Harinarayanan said the multi-level car parking would be taken up under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode at an estimated budget of Rs 67 crore. A detailed project report and request for proposal is under preparation.

The multi-level car parking at Jagadamba would be spread over a land area of 130 square metres and would be an automated project equipped with the latest technology. Two other multi-level car parking systems have been planned in the city-one in front of Kurusura Museum and another at VUDA office. These two parking facilities would be taken up jointly by GVMC and VUDA.

While some big commercial complexes provided space for vehicular parking, smaller malls are not making any provision.
Lack of parking lots at busiest pockets in the city is forcing people to park their vehicles on road, ending up paying hefty fines for parking the vehicle on no parking zone.

On the other hand, VUDA has planned to set up a multi-level parking to the west of City Central Park opposite LIC building. Later, on the south side another multi-level parking is planned with restaurants on the top. VUDA has identified the location in view of huge traffic jam witnessed in and around RTC Complex, Dwarakanagar and Daba Gardens.

The Commissioner also added that the cattle would not be allowed to move on to the roads to obstruct the traffic. The owners would be asked to build sheds near their homes to keep the animals indoors. Action will be initiated if the cattle are found on the roads, he added.
