Eluru: The Road Transport department has decided to give fancy numbers to motor vehicles offline also. At present, the fancy numbers are only available through online service.
The Commissioner of Transport has issued orders in this regard on the request of Excise Minister KS Jawahar to change the procedure and make the fancy numbers available offline also. As the online service system is not reachable to all the motor vehicle owners, they are facing troubles in getting fancy numbers for their vehicles.
In view of the situation, it has decided to give remaining fancy numbers off-line also, after completion of online fancy numbers.
The minister visited the Regional Transport office (RTO) here on Saturday to register his vehicle personally and digitally signed to get the fancy number for his new vehicle. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he has represented to the Transport Minister and the Commissioner of Transport to make the fancy numbers available offline also to enable all the vehicle owners to get fancy numbers if they required.
On this request, the officials have issued orders recently. With this, every series fancy numbers which remained after completion of online service will be allotted to the customers who make choice offline for the fancy numbers.
