Hyderabad: BC Welfare Association National President R. Krishnaiah has announced that he would float a new political party for the Backward Classes people.

Addressing the State Executive meeting of BC Welfare Association at Guntur on Sunday, Krishnaiah said that a comprehensive plan for the new political party would be chalked out soon. He said massive public meetings would be held in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Anantapur, Kurnool and other places to unite all BCs.

Krishnaiah expressed concern over non-allocation of tickets to BC candidates in proportionate to their population. He said political parties would be pressurised to give adequate representation to BCs. He also demanded 50% reservation for BCs in all law making bodies in the country. He strongly opposed inclusion of Kapus in the BCs.
