He also warned that officials would have to face consequence if they fail to stop razing activity close to the canals and colonies located on city outskirts.

The MLA visited Janardhan Reddy Colony in 54th division on Sunday and received grievances from colony residents. Speaking to media, the MLA said the government had provided pattas to poor in 2012 across the city. But, now the corporation authorities are trying to demolish houses constructed on the same lands given to poor, he added. He also said that government has been trying to play a big game with the Housing Scheme.

“The government is planning to collect Rs 3.60 lakh additionally for constructing a house that comes to Rs 6.60 lakh for each house. Though TDP had promised to allocate 18 ankanams of land and Rs 1.50 lakh cash for constructing a house in its manifesto. But, no single ankanam has been allocated to poor in the city till now,” alleged Anil Kumar Yadav. He also demanded the TDP leaders to come forward for an open debate on the housing scheme and the scam behind it.
