Hundreds of youngsters joyfully participated in the Happy Sunday programme conducted at Punnami ghat organised by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation on Sunday.

The VMC has shifted the Happy Sunday programme from MG Road, BRTS Road to Punnami ghat after the Minister for water resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and other city TDP leaders have requested the VMC to host the event in one town area. TDP floor leader G Haribabu, local corporator M Habeebulla and other leaders attended the Happy Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Deveineni Umamaheswara Rao said Punnami ghat was developed as a tourist centre during Krishna Pushkaralu. He thanked the VMC for conducting the event in one town and appealed to the local people to participate and make it a grand success.

Hundreds of children have exhibited their dancing skills and joyfully spending playing games and signing songs. VMC school students of Vidyadharapuram and Labour colony performed traditional dances. Saint Joseph English medium school students performed music and dance on plastic buckets. Doondi Seva samithi volunteers also joined the Happy Sunday.
