Mangalampalli Swarna’s vocal concert

‘Swarajhuri’, a cultural organization working for the last 25 years to promote classical music in the city had organised a vocal concert of Mangalampalli Swarna of Hyderabad.

Swarna had basics in music from Susarla Sivaram and later from K Raghavachari in Hyderabad. Swarna did her Doctorate in music and also her Post Graduation in English. Swarna has given concerts in most prestigious organisations like Krishna Gana Sabha, Music Academy in Chennai and other cities in India and overseas.

Swarna commenced the concert with Deekshitar kriti ‘Panchamaatanga’ in Malahari ragam. She continued the concert with Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna keerthana ‘Pari pari na padame’ in Hamsadwani ragam. She also rendered the rare composition of Saint Thyagaraja swamy ‘Amma Ravamma’ in Kalyani ragam, ‘Chitra ratnamaya’ in Kharahari priya and popular composition ‘Emdaro mahanubhavulu’ in Sri Ragam.

Audience enjoyed the singing and excellent manodharmam of the singer. Swarna concluded the concert with Thillana of Balamurali. The concert was instrumentally supported by BV Durgabhavani on violin and Mangalagiri Sridhar on mridangam.
