Vijayawada: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said role of NGOs in development was crucial and urged the employees to extend their services to keep Navyandhra ahead of other States.
NGO leaders P Ashok Babu and others met Naidu at Atkuru and conveyed greetings on behalf of employees for his election as Vice-President. Babu said employees were happy to see a Telugu man elected to the coveted post for the first time.
Venkaiah Naidu said he had suggested to both Andhra and Telangana governments to allow spousal transfers when he was Union Minister. He was happy that both the governments respected his suggestion and helped wife and husband work together in any State of their choice.
