Polling has begun in Kakinada for the Municipal Corporation elections and the voters are swarming the polling booths in large numbers. 196 polling centres have been formed in 48 divisions with 241 candidates competing in the polls.Â
Polling has begun in Kakinada for the Municipal Corporation elections and the voters are swarming the polling booths in large numbers. 196 polling centres have been formed in 48 divisions with 241 candidates competing in the polls.
Voters are facing issues at certain polling stations with arrangements as the Election Commission has failed to implement the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the Kakinada elections, according to the reports. Also, NOTA button is said to be missing in several EVMs.
Over 1200 police personnel are being employed near the polling centres, however, rain is likely to hinder the polling process which will continue till 5 PM today.
