Officials told to hold anti-larva operations
Collector Kona Sasidhar on Monday directed the municipal commissioners to conduct anti-larva operations to check spread of diseases. He conducted a video-conference with municipal commissioners from his office in Guntur city on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he directed the municipal commissioners to set up groups to conduct anti-larva operations.
Guntur: Collector Kona Sasidhar on Monday directed the municipal commissioners to conduct anti-larva operations to check spread of diseases. He conducted a video-conference with municipal commissioners from his office in Guntur city on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed the municipal commissioners to set up groups to conduct anti-larva operations.
He stressed on need to create awareness on keeping surroundings clean and instructed the commissioners to conduct campaign to create awareness on how to check spread of diseases and distribute pamphlets.
Meanwhile Municipal Commissioner Ch Anuradha said the GMC will conduct Domala pai danda yatra programme on Tuesday in the slums to check mosquitoes menace. Addressing a meeting held at the GMC Council hall, she said the GMC teams will go to 53,000 houses in 190 slums and create awareness.
She appealed to people to involve themselves in the programme and make it a grand success. She instructed public health department officials to clean garbage in dustbins and desilt the drains to conduct anti-larva operations. She also directed the health officials to conduct fogging to check spread of diseases.
