Sepak Takra South Zone tournament begins in city
The Fifth South Zone Sepak Takra tournament began on Monday at the DR Indoor stadium on M G Road. Mayor Koneru Sridhar and municipal commissioner J Nivas inaugurated the event that is being organised by the Krishna District Sepak Takra Association.

Teams from South Indian states of AP, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Goa are participating in the three-day event to be held for both men and women.
The organisers have made arrangements for the matches and stay for the players. Speaking on the occassion city mayor Koneru Sridhar said that the city is hosting many tournaments and encouraging sports and games.
He congratulated the players and wished them good luck. Sepak Takra Association national president SR Prem Raj, State Association president G Balamurali Krishna, State Association Secretary G Srinivasulu, Krishna district Association Secretary S Ramesh and others were present on the occasion.
