Kurnool: TG Bharat, a young industrialist, said that Kurnool is emerging as sports hub and efforts are on to transform it into a sports city. Several national sports have been organised here and several players from Kurnool have represented national games played at various states. To give a big boost to sports, TGV group is putting efforts to train and groom young talent, he stated.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Bharat said that his group wants to give boost to rugby sport that is famous in western countries. A movie was made in Telugu with rugby sport, he stated and added that students across the state are slowly attracting towards rugby.

TG Bharat said that the rugby sport needs lot of strength and speed and best sport to youngsters. A five-day rugby sport coaching camp is being organised for students from August 29 and coaches from England, Australia, Scotland and Wales have been invited to impart training. James from England, Immanuel Taylor from Australia, David Cook Burn from Scotland and Allen Harpis from Wales would be staying here for five days to give coaching. A total number of 11,000 students are participating in the camp, he stated.

James informed that they are organising coaching camps across the globe under Penguin International Academy. Several students have represented Olympics from the academy, he said. “We will select the students based on their interest and train them. Later, they will be made to participate at the national and international rugby competitions,” he explained. After the completion of five-day coaching at Kurnool, the selected students would be given continuous training, he stated. Andhra Pradesh Rugby Association general secretary Ramanjaneyulu and other coaches were present.
