Beach fronts to get a makeover
Finally, the district administration is gearing up to provide tourist facilities on the beach front particularly at Ramakrishna, Yarada, Rushikonda beaches. Safe swimming pools within 50 and 100 metres in the waters, shacks, toilets, canteens and resorts near the beaches are coming up. This time, the district administration directed the tourism department officials to plan and complete the works
Visakhapatnam: Finally, the district administration is gearing up to provide tourist facilities on the beach front particularly at Ramakrishna, Yarada, Rushikonda beaches. Safe swimming pools within 50 and 100 metres in the waters, shacks, toilets, canteens and resorts near the beaches are coming up. This time, the district administration directed the tourism department officials to plan and complete the works by December and March 31, 2018.
In order to take up the more tourist attractions on a swift move, Collector Pravin Kumar, along with tourism department and GVMC officials, visited various beaches on Wednesday. On the occasion, the Collector directed the officials to take up more facilities on the beach front without further delay.
Ramakrishna Beach and Yarada Beach, Malkapuram-Yarada ghat road and Rushikonda beach have been identified to provide more facilities for tourists. Though Yarada Beach was blessed with natural beauty, due to the lack of facilities, tourists are not paying a visit to the place, the Collector opined.
The revenue officials spotted five acres of government land near Yarada Beach to develop resorts and restaurants in the area. The Collector directed the officials to prepare plans and take up the works on a war-footing basis.
Executive Director of AP Tourism Department Sriramulunaidu, superintending engineer of GVMC Prasad Raju and Gajuwaka tahasildar Venugopal were present during the visit.
