Darsi: Minister for Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Sidda Raghava Rao vented ire at the officials for the unhygienic conditions at Edara village in Prakasam district on Tuesday.

The Minister toured the village to know the ground-level reality of the hygiene and sanitation conditions at Edara. The villagers are suffering from viral fevers since on week and a few villagers brought the issue to the notice of the Minister on Monday.

He immediately ordered the medical and health department to conduct a medical camp in the village. On Tuesday, he made a surprise visit to the village to check the reality and shocked to see the pathetic conditions.

The Minister witnessed unhygienic and poor sanitation conditions in the village. He expressed anger on the panchayat secretary for the over flowing of drainages and unclean roads. He visited a few people in the village who are suffering from the fever and asked them to keep the surroundings clean and take medicine.

He ordered the Darsi constituency special officer B Ravi to stay in the village until the situation becomes better. He ordered the electrical staff to fix LED lights to all poles in the villages within 24 hours and sanctioned Rs 30 lakhs from the Collector’s funds and Rs 10 lakhs from the constituency funds for the drainage system.
