Officials seize milk products
The officials of vigilance and enforcement department in coordination with the food safety wing of GVMC and civil supplies seized outdated milk products here on Wednesday.
Visakhapatnam: The officials of vigilance and enforcement department in coordination with the food safety wing of GVMC and civil supplies seized outdated milk products here on Wednesday.
The officials raided the premises of P Surya Kumari Agencies located at VUDA Colony in Madhavadhara and seized the products and took into custody its owner Ganesh Kumar.
DSP of vigilance and enforcement department CM Naidu said the accused person was running the store and two godowns without a valid licence. It was an unauthorised store and the expiry dates of some of the products especially milk products such as ghee, milk biscuits, milk chocolates and skimmed milk had lapsed.
The raid was led by the superintendent of police of vigilance and enforcement department D Koteswara Rao. A case has been booked under section 6 A of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act and the accused has been handed over to the civil supplies department for further action.
