Take Dhyan Chand’s life as inspiration, youth told
SETVEN, Tirupati and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) jointly celebrated National Sports Day in a befitting manner here on Tuesday. The programme was held at Srinivasa Sports Complex in Tirupati.

The programme was held at Srinivasa Sports Complex in Tirupati. The Administrative Officer (AO) of sports complex Varalakshmi paid tributes to Major Dhyan Chand whose birthday is celebrated as National Sports Day, said that youth and sportspersons should take inspiration from Dhyan Chand’s life and his sportive spirit.
SETVEN CEO AD Jyothi recollected the contributions of Dhyan Chand, who got gold medal in Olympics for thrice and made the country proud. The youth should take him as role model, she said. SV Arts College Physical Director Madhava Reddy mentioned that, seeing the performance of Dhyan Chand, Germany president Hitler congratulated him by shaking his hands which was very rare.
SETVEN Manager M Narayana Swamy Naidu, Sports Coach Ramesh, and other staff of sports complex and SETVEN participated. Sports persons organised a rally from sports complex to Balaji Colony in the city on the occasion. Hockey tournament was also conducted for eight groups and mementoes were presented to the winners.
