Drawing competitions for high school and college students were held at Vasavya Mahila Mandali here on Thursday under the aegis of the Swetcha Gora Eyebank as part of its eye donation fortnight. In all, 150 college and high school students took part in the event.

The topic for high school students was ‘Wonderful Waterfalls’ whereas the topic for college students was ‘Beautiful City’.
In a release, the eye bank director, Dr G Samaram, said a singing competition on Friday and a quiz contest on eye donation for students on Saturday are scheduled.

Presentations will be given to meritorious students at the valedictory of the fortnight to be held on September 8.
A screening camp to identify patients with corneal blindness will be held at the Mahila Mandali on September 6. Free surgical treatment will be provided to the needy, he added.
