Nellore: Gudur police nabbed an accused, who killed his owner by slitting throat and fled away with gold and cash. The accused was identified as Thatiboina Nagaraju. Gudur Circle Inspector Subba Rao said here on Wednesday that deceased Govind Narayana, who hails from Janardhan Reddy Colony, used to run a seat cover shop at Ambedkar Colony.

The Govind Narayana was found murdered on August 22 under suspicious conditions. The police registered a case and took up investigation. The CI stated that the accused Nagaraju, who hails from Mokkalapadu village under Venkatagiri mandal, was working at Govind Narayana’s shop for the last two years.

On August 22, Nagaraju had hatched a plan to rob gold from him when he was in an inebriated condition. But, the accused killed Govind Narayana and took away gold rings from him. He also robbed Rs 2,000 cash from Narayana and ran away. Sub-Inspector Naresh and others were present.
