Extra-marital affair created havoc in a family where a father attempted suicide along with his three children. Two of his children died when he pushed them into a well and another child and he himself battling for life. The incident came to light at SC Colony in Kamireddypadu of Aananthasagaram mandal on Friday.

N Penchala Rathnam (33), who belongs to Kamireddypadu, married Bhanu and they have three children. He has been working in Kuwait for the last one year and the family stayed back in the village. Meanwhile, Bhanu had developed extra-marital relationship with one of her close relatives in the village. After hearing about the relationship, Rathnam returned to the village last week.
Bhanu eloped with her paramour after they had heated argument over the issue. Rathnam, who felt insulted, administered pesticide-laced drink to his three children and pushed them into a well. Later, he also committed suicide. Passersby rescued Rathnam and his daughter Prem Kumari (4) and shifted them to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of Haritha (8) and Keerthi (7) were sent to post-mortem.
