He informed pilgrims that some of the amendments were brought in existing systems following the feedback given by pilgrims and the development activities. He said, the Telugu website trial run will be from September 4 onwards for a week before it is launched officially in a full-fledged manner.
“Next month, we are planning to launch our Tamil and Kannada versions also. These developments were made following the suggestions from pilgrim folk. This will enable the pilgrims to go for online booking for accommodation, darshan, laddu prasadams, donations etc.in an enhanced manner,” he added.
Later, the EO attended to 25 calls from pilgrims. Srinivasa Rao from Visakhapatnam, Nalini from Bengaluru, Kanmani from Chennai and Kishore from Vijayawada have informed the EO that they want to book Suprabhatam and Thomala tickets. Singhal stated the premiere Arjitha seva tickets are less in number.
“So, we have introduced electronic online dip system a couple of months ago which is yielding good results. Today also, we have released 50,789 tickets of which the premiere sevas include 6,699 and ordinary sevas are 44,090 for the month of December. So, you can book the tickets through online and the electronic dip will be taken next week,” he added.
Answering calls of Lakshmi from Chennai and Umashankar from Hyderabad, the EO said the new system of limiting Divya Darshan tokens for pedestrian pilgrims to 20,000 a day is giving positive results.
“We are now able to provide darshan to 20,000 pilgrims, who are coming on foot paths, without waiting. Responding to series of questions from pilgrims, Anil Kumar stated some restrictions have been brought in to donor privilege darshan as the pilgrim rush has also increased.
However, he said that suggestions of providing a separate time slot for donors and giving better darshan to donors, who have donated over one lakh will be negotiated with other officials soon,” the EO said. Swetha from Australia brought to the notice of the EO that she has not received Sapthagiri magazine though she has paid on May for which the EO responded and said that the copies will be sent to her address immediately by the concerned authority.
