Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu termed his party’s victory in Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) polls as a historic mandate and said that people developed confidence on performance-oriented TDP government.

Speaking to media persons at his camp office in Vijayawada on Friday, he said that the results of Kakinada and Nandyal elections have reflected the people’s faith on him and his government and he would strive hard to fulfil the promises made to them. He asserted that he would develop Kakinada as Smart City.
He stated that the Kakinada results were not 100 per cent favourable to him and vowed to rectify the gaps and win the hearts of the people in future. Flaying the opposition parties for trying to create hatred among the people on the lines of region, caste and communities, he said that people bluntly rejected these conspiracies.
Naidu opined that elections should be held once in five years and there should not be hurdles for implementing development programmes. He said that the victory in both Nandyal and Kakinada would be taken as a model for poll study and the party leaders would visit both the places and analyse the situation and a yellow book would be prepared.
The Chief Minister said that he was trying to bring more transparency in administration and establish corruption-free rule. He warned the erring people on booking PD Act for malpractices.Referring to agricultural sector, the state has stood numero uno position in the sector and the government was striving hard to complete irrigation projects on priority basis.
“If there is no water the delta become a desert. We have to utilise each and every drop of water,” he said. He lauded the efforts of party functioneries for the victory of Nandyal and Kakinada polls. Even our ministers, MLAs have campaigned like a small-time activists with a determination, which fetched us grand victory, he said.
He said that the state government would extend helping hand to NRIs suffering in Texas due to hurricane. He said that the NRI representatives of TDP including Komati Jayaram and Vemuri Ravi would be sent to Texas immediately to help the NRIs suffered loss due to hurricane.
