Visakhapatnam: GITAM University tied up with the state government and Thomson Reuters, a global market data provider. Thomson Reuters is well known world over for its quality data in the areas of financial and risk, legal, tax and accounting, and media markets to help businesses make decisions.

A tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the three parties at the AP Secretariat, Thursday, in the presence Panchayat Raj and IT, Electronics and Communication Minister Nara Lokesh, Principal Secretary to IT Ministry K Vijayanand and IT Adviser and Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Chairman APEITA JA Chowdary.

GITAM FinTech Academy Coordinator Leben Johnson and Thomson Reuters Vice -President Sudhir Aggarwal exchanged the MoU documents.

Through the three-year MoU, Thomson Reuters will provide their global expertise and access to their award winning applications for research and analytics, with an aim to build products that will help better governance through real-time analytics. The end-goal is beyond just academic exercise, but to groom start-ups through GITAM University’s incubation centre to commercialise the product.

GITAM FinTech Academy Coordinator Leben Johnson said that the university values this partnership and believes that such partnerships between the government, industry and institution would greatly add value to students, who were the torch bearers of the nation.
