Government sanctions Rs 80 crore to develop infra at APR Schools

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said Rs 80 cores has been sanctioned for development of Andhra Pradesh Residential (APR) schools. After making a surprise visit to the Bhimili Girls Residential School on Friday, the minister said a special committee has been formed and asked to visit all the schools in state to monitor the academic standards and facilities.

Visakhapatnam: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said Rs 80 cores has been sanctioned for development of Andhra Pradesh Residential (APR) schools. After making a surprise visit to the Bhimili Girls Residential School on Friday, the minister said a special committee has been formed and asked to visit all the schools in state to monitor the academic standards and facilities.

“We sanctioned Rs 80 crore to meet the primary needs of schools and APR hostels. We might get a fund of Rs 50 crore from Nabard and Rs 15 crore from school education department and another Rs 15 crore from AP Residential School Society,” he informed. Before that he interacted with hostel inmates and also ate lunch along with them .

Earlier, he warned the principal of residential school Rama Raju for poor hygienic conditions in the school and bad maintenance.DEO K Nagamani, GVMC Zonal Commissioner B Sanyasi Naidu other officers were present.
