Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad has set aside the Declarations issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh issued under the 2013 Land Acquisition Act for acquiring lands in 10 villages of CRDA areas in Amaravati. It directed the government to consider and dispose of the objections raised by the farmers relating to the notifications.

Justice A Ramalingeswara Rao gave these directions while disposing of a batch of 15 Writ petitions filed by over 100 farmers. The petitioners complained that their lands being acquired were sought to be used in violation of the Master Plan. They also contended that the market value of the lands must be revised before issuing of Preliminary Notifications as per the Act, but in their case it was not done.

They also complained that their written objections were not considered and disposed of by the District Collector as mandated under the Act. The judge after hearing the arguments cancelled the Declarations and directed the authorities to consider and dispose of the objections raised by the farmers.
