The Aviation Minister, who came to Visakhapatnam, inaugurated 'New India-We Resolve to Make' exhibition commemorating the 75 years of Quit India movement and forthcoming 75 years of Independence in 2022.
Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in collaboration with the Central Public Sector Units is organising exhibitions-cum-seminars at 39 places across the country on the same theme. In Vizag, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is organising a four-day event at the Port Kalavali Auditorium starting from Friday.
The focus of the exhibition will be on India's freedom movement from 1857 to 1947 showing landmark freedom struggles including - The first war of Independence - 1857, the Champaran Satyagrah, the Non-Cooperation movement, the Dandi Yatra and the Quit India movement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister called upon the students to build their character with humane values through education. Later, some students posed questions to him on range of topics, for which he answered.
Interacting with the media, Ashok Gajapathi Raju said, “It is not right on my part to comment on politics when I came here to attend the government programme. Anyhow, as our party won Kakinada civic polls, it is a happy moment.”
As part of five years ‘Sankalp Se Sidhi towards a New India’ programme from 2017 to 2022, a mass campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the country free of corruption, poverty, filth, communalism, terrorism and casteism.Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu and Zilla Parishad Chairperson Lalam Bhavani attended the programme.
