Light to moderate rain likely for state
Rainfall occurred at a few places in Rayalaseema and at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday. The Southwest Monsoon was normal in Rayalaseema, because of which heavy rain occurred at isolated places in the region, the Met department bulletin said.
Hyderabad: Rainfall occurred at a few places in Rayalaseema and at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday. The Southwest Monsoon was normal in Rayalaseema, because of which heavy rain occurred at isolated places in the region, the Met department bulletin said.
In coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema also there would be light to moderate rain/thundershowers at isolated/few/many places from September 2 to 5. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook. The monsoon was weak in the coastal districts as also in Telangana.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Tirupati 8, Santhipuram (Chittoor) 7, Palamaner (Chittoor) 6, Gonegandla (Kurnool), Mandapalle (Chittoor) 5 each, Arogyavaram (Chittoor) 4, Nandyal, Yemmiganur, Rudravaram (all in Kurnool), Pakala, Kalakada, Venkatagirikotam (all in Chittoor) 3 each, Dornipadu (Kurnool), Tirumala, Jupadu Bungalow (Kurnool), and Tirupati Airport 2 each.
