Visakhapatnam: Representatives of various civil society organisations demanded the arrest of 13 Greyhound personnel, who were accused of gangraping tribal women in Vakapalle under Paderu mandal in 2007.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, convener of Mahila Chetana K Padma said the Greyhound personnel brutally gangraped the innocent tribal women on August 20, 2007 but the police with the support of government tried to dilute the case.

When the Supreme Court issued orders to put the case on fast track, it gave relief to the people and the victims, she pointed out.

Apart from arrest of the Greyhound personnel, Padma demanded immediate convening of the court for the trial.Virasam representative Krishna Bai, AP Civil Liberties Committee district president T Sriramamurthy and representatives of other organisations were present.
