Nearly 500 took part in the event organised to mark Onam festival, which is very popular in Kerala and being celebrated around the World by Malayalees.

Siddhartha School secured first and the third prizes, while Atkinson School bagged second place in the contest. It was a happy time for Keralites living in the city on Sunday as they met the family members and had a special lunch and get together.

Association secretary Sunil Nayar told The Hans India that Onam festival is celebrated two days in Kerala on Sunday and Monday and houses will be decorated with Rangoli 10 days as part of the festival. He said children enthusiastically participated in Rangoli contest and exhibited their talent. Many of them used beautiful flowers to decorate the Rangoli.
