Kurnool: Two persons of a family were brutally hacked to death at Victoriapeta in Adoni town on Monday. Speaking to the media in the town, One-Town Circle Inspector M Subramaniam said that the deceased Nagendra and Naresh were brothers and residents of Victoriapeta, working in a local rice mill.

Negendra was said to be having an extra-marital affair with one woman of the same colony for quite some time. The girl’s father BC Veeranna became furious when he came to know about the illicit affair between them.

Veeranna hatched a plan with his accomplices to eliminate Nagendra. In a fit of rage, Veeranna and ten others reached Nagendra’s house on Monday and tried to drag him out. Naresh, the younger brother of Nagendra, who was not present at that time was informed about the incident at his house.

The CI said that Naresh immediately rushed to the house and tried to intercept Veeranna but his accomplices who were armed with deadly weapons, stabbed him indiscriminately.

Later Nagendra was thrown into a thoofan vehicle brought with them and fled the scene. Nagendra was taken to a Low Level Canal (LLC) near Banavasi that falls under the jurisdiction of Yemmiganoor police station and they killed him there. After killing him, they also burnt the body, added the officer.

Naresh who was lying in a pool of blood was immediately rushed to Adoni Area Hospital by his family members. After examining his critical condition, the doctors referred him to Kurnool General Hospital for better treatment. On reaching the hospital, Naresh breathed his last.

The One-Town CI said that a case of murder was filed against BC Veranna and his accomplices based on the complaint lodged by the victims’ family members and a manhunt was launched to nab the accused as all of them are absconding. As the case falls under two jurisdictions, Adoni and Yemmiganoor, Circle Inspectors of the respective police stations, M Subramaniam and G Prasad took up investigations.
