The three-day annual Pavitrotsvams commenced in Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple at Tiruchanoor on Monday. After performing Snapana Tirumanjanam to the utsvamurthy of Goddess, the Pavitra Pratishta was made as per the tenets of Pancharatra Agama.

The temple authorities have cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Astadala Pada Padmaradhana regarding this festival. Usually these Pavitrotsavams are observed to free from the sins committed either knowingly or unknowingly by the temple priests while performing sevas to the deity. Temple Special Grade Deputy EO Munirathanam Reddy, AEO Radhakrishna, temple staff and others were present.
