Smt Kandukuri Rajya Lakshmi College to celebrate golden jubilee
City MLA Dr A Satyanarayana said that the golden jubilee celebrations of Smt Kandukuri Rajya Lakshmi College for Women will be held during this year. The college was started in the year 1968 and is completing 50 successfull years.

Speaking to reporters in his office here on Monday, an organising committee will be formed for the celebrations. Veteran social reformer Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu and his wife Kandukuri Rajya Lakshmi sacrified their lives for women welfare and their education.
The couple donated crores worth of their properties in this regard and now have six educational institutions in their name with over thousands of students. College principal G Padmini said as many as 600 students are studying intermediate and 900 are pursuing degree courses in the college.
Steps were initiated to get NAAC 'A' grade status to the college. At present the college is having 'BPlus' grade status which was obtained in the year 2006,she added.
