Vexed with the recent votes scored by his party contestant Pullaiah in Nandyal by-election, Reddy was said to have taken this decision but is yet to announce it. A source from his party has revealed that Reddy is holding talks with senior leaders of the TDP. Byreddy after losing the general election in 2004 stayed away from politics for some time and in 2013, August 8, he officially announced his party

RayalaseemaParirakshnaSamithi (RPS) Party at Tirupathi. Since then Reddy fought every anti government activities under his party banner. He also opposed the merger of Rayalaseema region with Andhra.

He showed much interest to merge Kurnool and Anantapur in Telangana, making it to Rayala-Telangana. Byreddy after traveling a long journey with failures at every instance has made up his mind to pack up his party and join the ruling Telugu Desam Party. He was said to be taking the decision after holding a discussion with his party men at his native Mucchumarri village in Pagidiyalamandal in Kurnool district.
