Five-year-old killed, seven other students injured in road mishap

In a tragic accident, a five year-old-girl succumbed to death after getting seriously injured in a road mishap.

The girl, Varshita was killed in an accident when the school bus she was travelling in was hit by an oil tanker.

Seven other students sustained severe injuries and two of them are critical condition. The incident took place in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri District on Wednesday.

While the tanker driver fled the spot immediately, locals alleged that the driver's negligence and overspeeding resulted in the accident.

The injured students were admitted to the Bhuvanagiri area hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
