Tirupati: SV University was on boil again on Tuesday, with student unions’ call for bandh in the wake of group clashes that rocked the varsity on Monday.

Alleging that the registrar was supporting Nithin, the main accused in the group clashes, as he was his relative, all student unions except TNSF called for bandh and boycotted classes on Tuesday. They also took a rally from the golden jubilee arch to AD building. At population department, the varsity police apprehended the 21 leaders. This lead to tense to tense moments as students raised slogans against registrar and called for his termination.

They were also irked at the fact that a petty case was filed against on Nithin, who was the main accused, while cause non-bailable cases were filed against six students for breaking window panes in engineering college principal’s room.
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivas Rao enquired about the student clashes and ordered the varsity officials to take stringent action against the students who were responsible for group clashes.
