Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna gave a call to teachers to rededicate themselves for making the students as an ideal citizen of the country. The Collector participated in a programme organised at Sherman Girls High School here on Tuesday, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. The Teachers Day is being celebrated on September 5 of every year coinciding with the Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday.

Addressing the teachers and students, Pradyumna said teaching profession has more significance in the society compared to other jobs. He stressed on the need for imparting value-based education to students. “Teaching is a noble profession and every teacher should have to maintain certain principles and ethics,” he added.

The Collector stated that the government is allocating more funds to education in the budget and creating infrastructure in the schools for creating an ideal environment to students. He opined that students should more time with teachers than their parents for better learning.

The official exhorted teachers to become role model to students in the school. He expressed happiness over the extraordinary performance of teachers and students of Upper Primary School at Beerappacheruvu in Irala mandal where he visited the school on Tuesday.
