After garlanding Radhakrishnan’s photo and inaugurating the celebrations he told that Radhakrishnan started his career as a teacher and reached many heights in his life. Subrahmanyam further said, “Even though Radhakrishnan became the president of India he liked to be a teacher and liked the profession very much.

Teacher’s role is key in developing student's career and teachers are vital to this society. If teachers ignore their responsibilities it will affect the entire society. Our president Radhakrishnan worked as a philosophy lecturer in Rajahmundry Arts College from 1917 to 1920.”

Speaking on this teacher’s day celebrations District Collector Mishra said, “This profession is an honourable profession. I still remember my teachers from whom I’ve learned many great things.

Whenever I go to Lucknow, I go to my teacher, Neeta Kumari’s house who taught me in my first standard. Where ever I am, I will respect teachers and the profession. I assure all the teachers the necessary support from the district officials whenever need be.”

ZP Chief, Naveen Kumar, another guest to the programme said, “Teachers not only nurture the child’s career but also steers the society in this country. Those who are selected for best teacher awards should become an example for other teachers.”

Speaking on this occasion District Educational Officer Abraham said, “This district stood first in the state for the 10th class results in 2016-17 capturing 97.97 pass percentage. For the past three to four years, East Godavari district is in the top three positions in achieving 10th class pass percentage in the state. 20 percent of their school students are achieving of seats in IIIT. Chief Minister has awarded the best school award to Challapalli School in Uppalaguptam Mandal.”

After that Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Reddi Subrahmanyam, District Collector Mishra, ZP Chairman Naveen and DEO Abraham felicitated all the 102 award winning teachers with shawls.
