As part of promoting indigenous and alternative forms of medicines, Visakhapatnam to host a four-day National Arogya Fair, which is being organised jointly by the Central and State governments as well as New Delhi-based PHD Chambers of Commerce, from September 8 to 11 at Andhra University Exhibition Grounds, said Collector Pravin Kumar.  

Visakhapatnam: As part of promoting indigenous and alternative forms of medicines, Visakhapatnam to host a four-day National Arogya Fair, which is being organised jointly by the Central and State governments as well as New Delhi-based PHD Chambers of Commerce, from September 8 to 11 at Andhra University Exhibition Grounds, said Collector Pravin Kumar.

Several Central and state governments Ministers would take part in the inaugural of the event. According to organisers, it is expected that the event would see the footfall of 10,000 visitors. To create awareness about the imedicinal practices among teenagers and youth, the Collector directed the educational institutions to send their Class IX, X and Intermediate students for attending the event.

Every year Arogya Fair is being organised in different states. This time the opportunity was given to Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam was chosen for organising the Arogya Mela. There would be two segments for putting up the government and private stalls relating to Ayurveda and Unani.

In the third segment, organisers would conduct lectures and seminars on the indigenous medicinal fields. Some of the big companies like Dabur and Patanjali will put up their outlets at the location. There will be cultural progrmmes in the evenings.
