Chief Minister lays foundation for Chintalapudi II phase works
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation for Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme II phase works at Maddulaparva village of Reddygudem mandal in Krishna district on Thursday.

Earlier he offered harati as part of Jala Siriki Harati programme, unveiled pylon and laid the foundation for II phase works.Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the state government has been organising Jala Siriki Harati programme across the state to express respect towards water sources, including rivers.
He said the Chintalapudi Lift Scheme was aimed to supply water to upland areas in both Krishna and West Godavari districts. He said the scheme would help to bring additional two lakh acres into cultivation and stabilise 2.8 lakh acres ayacut in nine constituencies and 33 mandals of both the districts.
The Chief Minister said the lift irrigation scheme would help to supply drinking water to 410 villages benefiting 21 lakh people. He said the project would be completed in one year.
The Chief Minister said that the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme would be grounded in two phases. In the first phase, Godavari water would be lifted at Tadipudi village and diverted to leading channel. From there water would reach Guddigudem village at a distance of 13.22 km. In the second phase, the water would be lifted through 14 pumpsets and diverted to Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme main canal. Later, the canal would be connected to Nagarjuna Sagar 21 branch canal to supply water to Krishna district.
Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, Kollu Ravindra, MPs Kesineni Srinivas, Konakalla Narayana Rao, Maganti Venkateswara Rao, Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha, MLC B Arjunudu, MLAs Peetala Sujata, Tangirala Sowmya, Principal secretary of Water Resources Sasibushan Kumar, Collector B Lakshmikantam and others were present.
