The Minister distributed monthly assets to beneficiaries at a public meeting held on the premises of the MPDO office in Gangavaram on Wednesday. Addressing the participants, the Minister said that the TD government had introduced several schemes for farmers as it is committed to their welfare.

He informed the participants that it was decided to organise monthly assets distribution programme in each mandal in a transparent manner. Amaranatha Reddy said that the government has enhanced the old-age pension from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 to make lives of elderly happy.

To protect interest of farmers, the government distributed Rs 165 crore as input subsidy, he said and added that 500 tractors were distributed to farmers at subsidised prices.

The Minister stated that the Chief Minister is expected to lay foundation stone for Palamaner-Madanapalle highway road development which will be taken up at a cost of Rs 350 crore. Reddy further said that instructions were given to the District Collector to supply drinking water through hired tankers to those villages which are facing shortage of water.

He made an appeal to villagers not to waste their time in politics. He said that the government has plans to provide monthly income of Rs 10,000 to each family. Additional Joint Collector V R Chandramouli has explained the objective of conducting monthly assets distribution in the district under the supervision of the Collector. District Farmers Union leader Manohara Naidu and others were present.
