Heavy downpour paralyses life
Several colonies in low-lying areas of Adoni town were inundated with the continous downpour for three hours beginning from 4 am to 7 am on Wednesday morning. The lakes and ponds in and around Adoni have overflowed and floodwater entered the houses. The colonies like Gowlipeta, Vaddegeri, Krindigeri, Market Yard, Rythu Bazaar and low-lying areas of Tirumala Nagar have flooded.
Adoni: Several colonies in low-lying areas of Adoni town were inundated with the continous downpour for three hours beginning from 4 am to 7 am on Wednesday morning. The lakes and ponds in and around Adoni have overflowed and floodwater entered the houses. The colonies like Gowlipeta, Vaddegeri, Krindigeri, Market Yard, Rythu Bazaar and low-lying areas of Tirumala Nagar have flooded.

Apart from Adoni town, several villages surrounding Adoni also received good amount of rainfall. The Pedda Vagu overflowing near DSP office in the town. Sudden downpour mixed with gales has uprooted trees and electric poles at several places in Adoni. The Transco officials stopped the supply of power as a precautionary measure. The people faced hardships with power outages. However, the power was restored after rain was stopped.
Veeranna, a resident of Adoni, said that rainwater has entered the houses as civic authorities have failed to de-silt the lakes and ponds. He stated that residents of Adoni are facing same situation in rainy season every year. Despite No action was initiated despite bringing to the notice of civic officials, he lamented.
